Lilac & Grey Wedding Palette Inspiration #LilacGreyWedding

Spring is here, and in the fresh, free spirit of the season, we are inspired by the cool-toned, neutral wedding palette of lilac and grey! A lilac and grey color story can be distinctive, very hip, yet also so understated and soothing! We like that you can add pops of plum, dark purple and green to perfectly compliment the look.

You can totally set the tone for your happy day by choosing invitations that reflect your theme.  Your guests will get a sense of what is in store for them at your wedding as soon as they open their envelopes. We love-love-love these romantic lavender laser-cut wedding invitations with grey ribbon bows from Elegant Wedding Invites. They are lavish, beautiful and memorable!

For our bride’s attire, we suggest starting with this extra-special lace gown by Sweetheart. The cutout waistband acts as the perfect belt for this Jersey gown with a Queen Anne neckline, natural waist, straight silhouette, and chapel length train. And hello, look at that illusion back with all those buttons! Isn’t it scrumptious? {We have this gorgeous gown in stock now at The Gilded Gown!}

Lavender and lilacs can be used in bouquets, favors and decor as a fragrant and beautiful addition to your decor. The pale greenish grey tones in succulents pair well with lilac colored florals. Vintage glass bottles in various hues of purple can be found at antique stores and grouped for a lovely display, filled with sprigs of lavender, or given as favors for the wedding guests.

A luxurious tablescape is possible by amassing floral elements with loads of greenery along with some metal goblets, pink glassware and grey pottery plates. So pretty! We love the diverse chair covers, especially the one with the floral swag attached. The way to achieve this look yourself is to go kind of overboard with the flowers and remember to layer different textures and colors to enhance your scheme. The items in the photo below don’t technically “match” but they most certainly “GO!”

Lilac macaroons work well with this theme, as do lavender flavored cupcakes. You can get a dozen lavender French macaroons, from MacaronsbyAdri on Etsy, for $24.

Lavender is a romantic addition to food. And, a wonderful favor idea is to make tiny jars of lavender sugar for your guests.

Lavender works: it immediately evokes the musky scent of summer without filling the mouth with soapy perfume. To make lavender sugar, just cut up a few lavender sprigs and keep them in a jar of granulated sugar for a few days.Nigella Lawson
