As we enter the newest Bridal Season, we like to celebrate our favorite trends. For Spring 2017, we are applauding Illusion Tops, Cascading Ballgown Skirts, Plunging Necklines, Over-sized Bows, and all sorts of adorable Bridal Gown Toppers.
Wedding toppers are those cute little extras that you can so easily slip on over your dress, be it a caplet, shawl or jacket. With the warmer season comes lots of destination weddings, folks are getting hitched at the beach, in barns, lakeside and in picturesque fields. If you are getting married in such a location, remember that sometimes a chill comes in the evening time and a topper is just the thing to complete your look and keep you comfortable.
Or, you may have a strapless dress that just needs…a little something. A jeweled caplet can evoke another era and add lots of personality to your gown. This extra glam diamond rhinestone caplet captures the feels of the stylish 1920s and is available for $125, from StaysiLeeCouture on etsy here:
Maybe you have a finely-developed fashion sense and require a pink feathered overlay to add some interest to your look:
Perhaps you want more coverage for your special day, in which case a lace jacket is the perfect addition.
Shawls are stealing the scene, as they simply go over your neck and add all sorts of beautiful interest, like this one in lace:
Whatever your situation, consider a wedding topper as the perfect finishing touch to your ensemble.
Over-sized bows are coming back to the bridal scene in a big way this season. And, the runway is quickly translating to wedding aisles, as more and more brides embrace this look. This flirty and fun look is for the consummate girlie-girl. What is more feminine than a giant bow accent on your wedding dress: the bigger, the better? This whimsical wedding day accent is so versatile because bows can be worn in the front, back, or even on the side of your gown. And you can easily tie a bow in any color and/or fabric you like to your dress.
But sometimes a trend is a little TOO much, ne c’est pas? We do not recommend putting a huge bow on your head. Ever.
Just as the flowers bloom in springtime, the bridal runways are blossoming with softly tinted gowns in shades of gold, blush and pale blue.
Justin Alexander’s stunning pearl pink gown designed in silk is the softest tinted gown, and we just love it:
David Tutera’s gorgeous take on tinted, this strapless hand-beaded lace appliqué, organza and memory taffeta trumpet dress is in SeaMist, the palest bluish green:
Still going strong, the Illusion Bodice trend seems to be here to stay. We love the ultra-feminine coverage provided by this style as well as the ease of wear. With an illusion bodice you can have the look of a sweetheart strapless gown, but the support of gown with a top.
This fabulous dress by Sweetheart has loads of embroidered lace appliques that adorn the bodice of its’ gorgeous illusion top (also it is the palest, prettiest pink!):
The allure and sophistication of a deep plunging neckline is not lost on today’s top bridal designers. This hot trend is all over Pinterest and is a favorite of brides.
Sweetheart combines trends in this soft wedding gown which features an illusion top AND a deep v neckline. This wedding day look is loaded with beaded lace appliques and a Chantilly lace underlay. The drama (and sexiness) of the plunging neckline is tempered with an easy-to-wear illusion top. Love!
Last, but not least, we have the dramatic and mesmerizing trend of Cascading Skirts. These showstopping skirts feature tons of tiers and layers and command attention!
Sincerity Bridal designed this romantic tulle Ballgown with the perfect touch of lace and a cascading, tiered skirt.
