Wedding Inspo: Outlander Inspired Highland Wedding #TeamJamie #GingersRule

We happen to be huge fans of Diana Gabaldon’s mesmerizing book series Outlander (which is also currently a hit series on Starz). The story enjoys a cult following due to the amazing love story between characters Jamie and Claire. Time travel, love, magic, nature, relationships, family, friends, politics, science, girl power, alchemy, an insanely hot ginger, history, botany and everything in between are all rolled into an incredible romance set in Scotland. Swe were thrilled to be invited to provide the perfect Justin Alexander wedding dress and accessories for a fabulous Outlander inspired shoot led by talented photographer Chastidyi Parrott of Star Noir Studio.

After stumbling onto the TV series in September (and binge-watching as anyone must) Chastidyi was completely captivated. Then her artistic inclinations kicked in and she decided to translate her passion for the story into a styled shoot. She says, “As a photographer, I was inspired by the love story, the clothing, and, of course, this almost perfect man that Diana Gabaldon has created. Slightly obsessed, I spoke with some of the local vendors, and they jumped on board–excited to create something inspired by the magic of the story with the feel of the highlands. To collaborate on a setting that would bring pieces of the novel to life. We love how this editorial stays true to Outlander, yet also offers couples tons of beautiful wedding ideas, no matter what the theme of their day might be.”

One of the first vendors on board was Jennifer from Knox Occasions. The pair collaborated on the color scheme. To capture the feel of the Scottish highlands for the shoot, the pair decided on soft, neutral tones and a hit of vibrant red. We think Jennifer captured a Scottish look with a decidedly upscale flair for the tablescape, with pieces from Pottery Barn and Unique Settings Rentals.

Melissa Timm Designs created the stunning florals for the shoot. Check out this crazy cool, extra large bouquet:

Amanda from Southern Sirens styled the model with a gorgeous updo and beautiful makeup:

The menus and invitations, plus the whisky themed favors were all designed and produced by Millstone Crafted, and they were all embellished with a specially designed crest:

Chapel in the Hollow was the perfect setting for the Highland inspired styled shoot. The property is loaded with lovely trees and lots of mossy stones. The addition of some man-made fog really captured an 18th century Scottish feel.

Such perfect inspiration for couples wanting to honor their Scottish heritage, or for fans of the Outlander novels + series, to incorporate into their day! The florals, tablescape, dress and setting and all the other dreamy details are sure to completely win you over. We are grateful to the following creatives for sharing their talents on this amazing styled shoot:
