A stunning styled shoot with Roxy & Jon Photography at Crescent Bend #HistoricHomeWedding

The creatives at Jessica Lee Photographic Art & Cassandra O’ Donnell Photography organized this breathtaking styled shoot which was staged amidst the historic beauty of Crescent Bend in Knoxville, TN. Their vision came to life with the help of lots of other talented wedding professionals and was beautifully photographed by Roxy and Jon Photography.

The venue, Crescent Bend, was once the heart of a large working farm back in the 1800s. This remarkable home served as a family residence for decades but through the years also housed a civil war command center, operated as a hospital and even provided safe haven for runaway slaves on the Underground Railway. The home is filled with amazing antique furniture and decor, but the grounds which features fabulous fountains, beautiful terraces and formal Italian gardens are absolutely MAJESTIC. After all, the property was named for its’ commanding views of the magnificent crescent bend it overlooks on the Tennessee River. These days Crescent Bend is available for indoor and outdoor events which can be customized for any style. Plan your wedding here and you will be helping to preserve this precious historic site. With the daffodils in full bloom the venue provided the perfect pop of spring for a romance-filled, styled wedding.

Beautiful model (and makeup artist) Porsha Kimble Adams wore an appropriately sweet and southern strapless gown by Justin Alexander from The Gilded Gown. We think the cascading skirt and beaded drop waist bodice fit perfectly with the romantic event.

The fresh and vibrant flowers are courtesy of LB Floral who delivered major style impact with her greenery and lush florals in muted neutrals with hints of bright pink and pops of purple.

The “groom” looks dashing in his elegant suit from Prestige Tuxedo, doesn’t he?

Blush and Honey Paper Co. produced all the printed items, from the lovely invites and reception cards to the delightful dinner menus.

The cake by Maggie Cakes is a study in the beauty of simplicity. Two tiers of naked white cake adorned with a swag of greenery and embellished with a few florals.

All Occasions Party Rentals provided the timeless furnishings while the glorious mismatched dinnerware is from the collection of Unique Settings Rentals.

More of the beautiful flowers, including a fabulous bridal crown, from LB Floral:

The combined efforts of some of Knoxville’s finest wedding professionals culminated in an absolutely glorious styled shoot. The history of the surroundings complimented all the details and the modern day touches in a beautiful way.

In honor of the by-gone era the venue brings to mind, a love poem from the 1800s by Elizabeth Barrett Browning:

How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise,
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old , and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints -I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! -and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
